Adidas Originals is launching a collection of Star Wars-themed sneakers and clothing for the 2010 Spring/Summer season -- and with it comes this first look (more of a tease) at some of the products they'll be pimping to the public. As a self-proclaimed adidas fanatic (not to mention a giant fan of all things Star Wars), I'm already head over heels (get it?) for these Stormtropper sneakers. Of course they don't show you the entire sneaker, but how cool is that back? I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the hippest or most up-to-date when it comes to the hot new sneakers on the market, but that Stormtrooper sneaker has to be one of the more fantasticlly fanboyish I've seen in quite some time.
In addition to the Stormtropper sneakers, adidas Originals is also adding Vader-themed sneakers, sweet Skywalker-themed sneakers, Yoda-themed sneakers and a totally retro sparkly silver lightsaber battle/Han Solo vibe'd pair of sneakers for those who have no problem saying "F*ck it -- this is what I'm wearing, this is what I love. The line is due out in January 2010.

The first of the releases this week include a Superstar 80 by London based street artist Pochoir. The silhouette was recruited to be part of a Five-Two 3 Artist collection. While the pictures don’t do the shoe justice, the silhouette features hints of 3M upper set in grey with blue accents.

This past Sunday I was with the family and we went to the Adidas Outlet store at Discovery Mill Mall on the outskirts of Atlanta. I copped these "Cash for Gold" " Superstars" while we were there. If you get a chance to get by there ask for my friend "Richard". He is the top associate at this shop and very knowledgeable in the search for unique Adidas Superstars.

From my personal collection, these are my "L.A. Hollywood California" Superstars. Check out the Low Rider on the heel! I was recording a song called "Don"t Be Shy" feat. Young Joc and Lil J.J. for the Disney "Another Cinderella Story" starring "Selena Gomez" Movie. You can catch it on ABC Family and it"s in all the stores for purchase. I was recording at a studio called "Atlantis Studios" and right around the block was this sneaker shop.

The first Adidas trainers were hand produced by Adolf (Adi) and Rudolph Dassler in 1920 under the Dassler name at home on the kitchen table. In 1928 the trainers appeared in the Olympic Games in Amsterdam. By 1956, at the Melbourne Olympics, the Adidas brand was being promoted. This was the first sports sponsorship. By 1961 Adidas had branched out from trainers into footballs and clothing. At the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, 80% of all athletes sported footwear with the familiar Adidas 3 stripes. The Adidas trefoil logo was introduced in 1972. This represents the continental plates coming together in the spirit of the Olympics. In the same year, the German national football team won the European Championships wearing Adidas boots. The new three strip Adidas Equipment logo was introduced in 1996. ADIDAS SUPERSTAR were at one time hard to get hold of even if you were a professional US basketball star. Today this is hard to believe, as the signature shell toe of the adidas superstar has now become firmly established as one of the great classics, popular around the World, and available in hundreds of colourways
